Abstract
The larviculture of Steindachneridion spp. faces low survival rates due to early cannibalism. The literature indicates that the larviculture of this genus is complex due to high intraspecific aggressiveness influenced by factors such as luminosity and food density. Aiming to evaluate practical strategies, a 20-day experimental trial was conducted with "suruvi-bocudo" ( S. scriptum ) post-larvae (PL) in a completely randomized design (10 PL/L), testing three complementary diets (n = 5): exclusive brine shrimp ( Artemia salina ) nauplii (AT); Egg Yolk Powder + Artemia (EYP + A); and Milk Powder + Artemia (MP + A). Water parameters and daily mortality were monitored, with causes of death classified via stereomicroscope as with or without injuries.
