Abstract
Organelle proteomics is a valuable approach to identify novel proteins in a confined cellular compartment thereby increasing our understanding of the function of individual organelles in cellular metabolism or signaling. A major obstacle in annotating organelle proteomes by mass spectrometry(MS)-based proteomics is to distinguish between true organelle constituents and contaminants co-purified during fractionation. Here we give a short summary on a recently developed quantitative SWATH-MS approach to characterize the proteome of peroxisomes from mouse liver.
