Outcomes-Based Forestry Education: An Application in New Brunswick

Pierre E. Zundel; Ted D. Needham
Journal of Forestry · Vol. 98, Issue 2 · pp. 30-35 · 2000

Abstract

Outcomes-based education focuses on students' abilities to practice what they know rather than on teachers, teaching, and content. Such a method starts with explicitly and publicly identifying the abilities and qualities we want students to possess. Teaching and assessment should align with the resources and students we have and the outcomes we seek. Success can then be judged on how well students perform.
