Five years in the making, a revision to the 50-year-old SAF Code of Ethics comes before the membership this fall for a vote. In drafting the revision, the Ethics Committee endeavored to correct ambiguities, clarify the profession's values, and improve the code's language and format. Among the more controversial elements of the current and proposed code is the land ethic canon, about which a vigorous debate is expected.
