Background and aims The increasing use of non-conventional water resources in Mediterranean agriculture raises concerns regarding nutrient imbalances and the capacity of soils to buffer irrigation-driven chemical inputs. This study evaluated how the soil–plant system stabilizes plant nutritional status under irrigation with contrasting water chemistries. Methods Nutrient dynamics were assessed along the soil–water–plant contin...

Volatile, unpredictable environments often evoke experiences of anxiety and uncontrollability. Previous research has shown that both high trait anxiety and a perceived lack of control can negatively affect the efficiency of attentional control. In the present research, we examined a novel hypothesis: that anxiety and uncontrollability impact the learning of control allocation in a context-dependent way. We assumed that highly...

Air–sea CO₂ fluxes in tropical coastal zones are strongly influenced by ENSO variability, but in situ measurements in the Eastern Tropical Pacific remain scarce. We assessed seasonal CO₂ dynamics around Gorgona Island (Panama Bight, Colombian Pacific) under La Niña 2021–2022. From November 2021 to July 2022, we conducted monthly sampling at seven stations spanning the Guapi River plume to the open ocean, measuring physical (SS...

Few studies have investigated the potential drivers of high-resolution (daily and 24-hour scales) on ocean acidification (OA) and the carbonate system in a coastal estuary during an intense La Niña event. Therefore, we conducted the first high-resolution total scale pH (pH T ) monitoring every three hours for 56 days (13 September to 7 November 2021) at the Colombian Pacific in El Muelle reef, Gorgona National Natural Park. Tw...

Our primary objective was to compile a comprehensive dataset on bird–window collisions throughout the Neotropical region, including both published and unpublished sources. On May 12, 2020, we extensively disseminated invitations to provide data via email and social media platforms. By providing a template worksheet, we required standardized information from collaborators to complete and register their data. To better understan...
