This study analyses how irrigation has altered meteorological conditions and atmospheric evaporation capacity (ET pen ). The results revealed that the expansion of irrigation from 1956 to 1997 led to a greater increase in the daily relative humidity (RH) of approximately 0.73% per decade, a decrease in the ET pen of approximately 0.10 mm/day per decade, and a greater increase in daily air temperature (T 2 ) of approximately 0....

Since the late 1990s, the irrigation quota in Xinjiang, northwestern China has witnessed a decline, owing to the widespread adoption of highly efficient water‐saving irrigation technologies. This phenomenon prompts the question: has there been a corresponding impact on potential evaporation? To explore changes in potential evaporation resulting from irrigation advances, we conducted a comprehensive analysis spanning the years...

The application of superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) in agriculture can enhance water use efficiency and ease water shortage in agriculture. In this study, by applying SAPs to the middle layer of the soil root zone, the effects of SAPs on moisture distribution during infiltration and evaporation under the condition of point source irrigation were investigated. The results show that during infiltration, the wetting front formed an...
