Polymorphisms at five microsatellite DNA loci provide evidence that Atlantic cod Gadus morhua inhabiting Gilbert Bay, Labrador are genetically distinguishable from offshore cod on the north‐east Newfoundland shelf and from inshore cod in Trinity Bay, Newfoundland.
