Introduction While crucial to ensuring the production of accurate and high-quality data—and to avoid erroneous conclusions—data quality control (QC) in environmental monitoring datasets is still poorly documented. Methods With a focus on annual inter-laboratory comparison (ILC) exercises performed in the context of the French coastal monitoring SOMLIT network, we share here a pragmatic approach to QC, which allows the calculat...
ReNovRisk: a multidisciplinary programme to study the cyclonic risks in the South-West Indian OceanNARA Subscribed
Today, resilience in the face of cyclone risks has become a crucial issue for our societies. With climate change, the risk of strong cyclones occurring is expected to intensify significantly and to impact the way of life in many countries. To meet some of the associated challenges, the interdisciplinary ReNovRisk programme aims to study tropical cyclones and their impacts on the South-West Indian Ocean basin. This article is a...
Seasonal marine microorganisms change neighbours under contrasting environmental conditionsNARA Subscribed
Summary Marine picoplankton contribute to global carbon sequestration and nutrient recycling. These processes are directly related to the composition of communities, which in turn depends on microbial interactions and environmental forcing. Under regular seasonal cycles, marine communities show strong predictable patterns of annual re‐occurrences, but little is known about the effect of environmental perturbation on their orga...
Staphylococcus capitis isolated from bloodstream infections: a nationwide 3-month survey in 38 neonatal intensive care unitsNARA Subscribed
To increase the knowledge about S. capitis in the neonatal setting, we conducted a nationwide 3-month survey in 38 neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) covering 56.6% of French NICU beds. We demonstrated 14.2% of S. capitis BSI ( S.cap BSI) among nosocomial BSIs. S.cap BSI incidence rate was 0.59 per 1000 patient-days. A total of 55.0% of the S.cap BSIs were late onset catheter-related BSIs. The S. capitis strains infected pr...
