Hom ozygous variants in the peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase 2 gene ( PTRH2 ) cause infantile-onset multisystem neurologic, endocrine, and pancreatic disease. The objective is to delineate the mechanisms underlying the core cerebellar phenotype in this disease. For this, we generated constitutive ( Ptrh2LoxPxhCMVCre, Ptrh2 −/− mice ) and Purkinje cell (PC) specific ( Ptrh2LoxPxPcp2Cre, Ptrh2 ΔPC mice ) Ptrh2 mutant mouse models and inv...
Persistent and periodic northerly low‐level jets have been identified in the South Asian mid‐latitudes and subtropics, which are modified by the presence of Makran mountain ranges adjacent to the central south coast of Pakistan, where they blow predominantly in the west‐northwest to northeast directions. These winds lead to the generation of a new wave system and propagate through the Arabian Sea as “makran swells”. They are p...

Growth, repetitive breeding, and aquaculture potential of the spiny lobster, Panulirus ornatusNARA Subscribed
A pair of subadult Panulirus ornatus was reared in the laboratory from July 2001. The female grew from 0.6 to 1.3 kg and the male from 0.5 to 1.6 kg in 2 years before the first mating in July 2003. In 6 months, from July to December 2003, the pair mated and spawned 3 times, producing 1.6 million eggs and 1.1 million phyllosoma larvae. Mating occurred 25 and 63 days after moulting. The female spawned 2–3 days after mating and t...
