Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) are essential supplementary structures used in tropical tuna purse-seine fishing. They are strategically placed to attract tuna species and enhance fishing productivity. The hydrodynamic performance of FADs has a direct effect on their structural and environmental safety in the harsh marine environment. Conventional FADs are composed of materials that do not break down naturally, leading to the...

The rare fungus Candida saopaulonensis has never been reported to be associated with human infection. We report the draft genome sequence of the first clinical isolate of C. saopaulonensis, which was isolated from a very premature infant with sepsis. This is the first genome assembly reaching the near-complete chromosomal level with structural annotation for this species, opening up avenues for exploring evolutionary patterns...

The development of the Singapore regional climate model (SINGV-RCM) is documented in this study. The model’s skill in predicting mean and extreme rainfall over the Maritime Continent at 8 km and 2 km grid resolution is assessed using observed rainfall. The model’s sensitivity to vertical grid and convection parametrization is also evaluated. Results demonstrate the added value of downscaling to 8 and 2 km. The spatial and temp...
