Nuclear power serves as an efficient, clean, and low-carbon energy source that constitutes a significant component of the energy portfolio in numerous countries. Most nuclear power plants are predominantly situated in coastal regions, utilizing seawater as the ultimate heat sink for their cooling systems. Real-time monitoring of marine organism dynamics near water intakes is essential to mitigate the risk of unit shutdowns tri...

Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) are essential supplementary structures used in tropical tuna purse-seine fishing. They are strategically placed to attract tuna species and enhance fishing productivity. The hydrodynamic performance of FADs has a direct effect on their structural and environmental safety in the harsh marine environment. Conventional FADs are composed of materials that do not break down naturally, leading to the...

Kidney-type glutaminase, encoded by the gls1 gene, plays a critical role in glutamate production and improvement of meat flavor. In this study, a gls1 gene encoding 595 amino acids was cloned from triploid crucian carp (Carassius auratus) (TCC) and showed a high similarity with the gls1 gene found in Cyprinus carpio, Sinocyclocheilus rhinocerous and Puntigrus tetrazona. Comparing the abundance of gls1 in different tissues, we...
