Streptococcus agalactiae was confirmed as the etiologic agent of streptococcosis in Nile tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus ) from Campeche, Mexico, during a cross‐sectional investigation of eight semi‐intensive farms (2021–2022) that yielded virulent strains in a challenge assay. Standard bacteriology, histopathology, API‐20 Strep phenotyping, one‐step PCR, and real‐time PCR confirmed S. agalactiae in five farms (62.5%). Gross a...

Rotifers play key roles in aquatic ecosystems, yet significant uncertainty remains about their diversity and evolution, and further evidence is needed to determine how reliably their responses to global change and human impacts can inform conservation. To identify major knowledge gaps hindering progress, we carried out a Delphi process both online and during the 17 th International Rotifer Symposium, involving more than 40 exp...

Aim We investigated how local‐scale environmental heterogeneity influences biodiversity patterns across broad biogeographic gradients, using intertidal microhabitats as a model system within one of the most environmentally stressful ecosystems on Earth. Location Intertidal habitats at 26 locations (two rocky shore sites per location) across six continents, spanning 98° of latitude (38°S to 60°N). Time Period 2019–2022. Major T...

A semi-analytical simulator has been developed to describe single-phase gas flow in hydraulically fractured wells hosted by naturally fractured rock. The governing formulation embeds Streltsova’s unsteady-state matrix-transfer function to fracture directly in a dual-porosity finite difference framework and advances the solution with an implicit–explicit scheme. This strategy preserves the analytical description of transient ex...

Assessing the vulnerability of coastal systems to storms often rely on an accurate modelling of extreme events and the identification of their impacts that depend on their physical characteristics. This requires the development of an exhaustive numerical downscaling of extreme hydrodynamics from deep to shallow areas to enhance our ability to predict the risks induced by these events, which is of fundamental importance for coa...

We present a Risk Atlas of Mexico City based on a Geographical Information System (RA-GIS). We identified the prevalent social risk to the more relevant hazards in Mexico City (CDMX): earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, landslides, forest fires, and land subsidence. A total of 274 shape-file maps were generated in this project. Seismic hazard was estimated for return periods (RP) of 20, 125, 250, and 475 years. Three area...
