Understanding crop genetic diversity is essential for conservation and breeding, yet farmer‐maintained germplasm remains largely underrepresented in genomic studies. Theobroma cacao L. has a complex domestication history, extensive global diversity, and is currently cultivated in Central America. Costa Rican cacao has been understudied compared to South American and Mexican cultivars despite cultural and historical importance....

Streptococcus agalactiae was confirmed as the etiologic agent of streptococcosis in Nile tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus ) from Campeche, Mexico, during a cross‐sectional investigation of eight semi‐intensive farms (2021–2022) that yielded virulent strains in a challenge assay. Standard bacteriology, histopathology, API‐20 Strep phenotyping, one‐step PCR, and real‐time PCR confirmed S. agalactiae in five farms (62.5%). Gross a...

Rotifers play key roles in aquatic ecosystems, yet significant uncertainty remains about their diversity and evolution, and further evidence is needed to determine how reliably their responses to global change and human impacts can inform conservation. To identify major knowledge gaps hindering progress, we carried out a Delphi process both online and during the 17 th International Rotifer Symposium, involving more than 40 exp...

Environmental variability imposes strong selective pressures that may favor adaptive responses such as phenotypic plasticity and bet hedging. Plasticity is generally favored under predictable conditions, whereas bet hedging is advantageous against environmental uncertainty. Plastic responses rely on reliable cues to adjust phenotypes to future conditions, whereas bet hedging spreads risks when cues are unreliable. However, bec...

Aim We investigated how local‐scale environmental heterogeneity influences biodiversity patterns across broad biogeographic gradients, using intertidal microhabitats as a model system within one of the most environmentally stressful ecosystems on Earth. Location Intertidal habitats at 26 locations (two rocky shore sites per location) across six continents, spanning 98° of latitude (38°S to 60°N). Time Period 2019–2022. Major T...

A semi-analytical simulator has been developed to describe single-phase gas flow in hydraulically fractured wells hosted by naturally fractured rock. The governing formulation embeds Streltsova’s unsteady-state matrix-transfer function to fracture directly in a dual-porosity finite difference framework and advances the solution with an implicit–explicit scheme. This strategy preserves the analytical description of transient ex...

Cognitive decline is a major non-motor symptom in Parkinson’s disease (PD), often linked to brain atrophy. This study examines the relationship between cortical atrophy and age groups in predicting cognitive decline in PD over five years. 188 PD patients from the COPPADIS cohort were stratified by age: young (30–55 years, N = 47), middle-aged (56–65 years, N = 59), and older adults (66–75 years, N = 82). Baseline cortical volu...

Olduvai Gorge, nestled between the East African Rift Valley and the Mozambique Belt, is key to understanding human evolution. Even though extensive archaeological and palaeoanthropological findings have been unearthed here since the 1930s, the Middle Stone Age in this area has nonetheless received less attention than the Oldowan or the Acheulean. This paper presents the lithic technology analysis of Dorothy Garrod Site (DGS),...
